Abit Slotket III problems

I am trying to overclock a 566 to 850 using an Abit slotket on a AOpen Ax63 Pro MoBo. I have managed to set the voltage where I want it but if I set the bus speed jumpers to anything but auto on both the MoBo and the Slotket all I get is loud beeping and the thing wont post. This is a pain because from auto the most I can get out of the Bios is 83 MHZ bus. An improvement but not as high as I want and it throws other buses out of whack. The heck of it is that with the Generic sloket with no jumpers I can set the MoBo jumper to 100 MHZ and it will run Windows but not very stable. I figure this is a sign that I need more votage but the bios only allows me to go to 1.7. Whatta ya think, is it a defective slotket or a compatability problem?

Make sure you set the voltage to what you want it to be on the Slotket. Most motherboards will only change the voltage by a certain percent up or down from what it sees as the "default." If you hard-wire the voltage to 1.8 on the slotket, your motherboard will think that is the default and will let you adjust the voltage up or down from that point. It sounds to me like you just need more voltage. Make sure you are using a good heatsink, though, the retail sink was not sufficient for my 566 to hit 850.
