abit sata power adaptor?

i have the nf7-s board .. it came with a ide to sata adaptor that needs to have a molex and floppy power connector attached to run the ide drive. my question is ... do i need to hook up the floppy connector if i get a real sata drive or can i just use the sata power convertor?

and with using a floppy and molex with the adaptor( i know it will not work ide with out both) but does it use more power by having the two connectors....wanted to know due to power supply concerns and about to by a new drive and the decision of sata or ide comes into play...thinking of getting a samsung drive.

are there any reall advantage of sata over ide(with the adaptor) other then the cable connection?

thank you ahead of time for your help

If you get a true SATA drive you don't need to attach the floppy power connector to the drive. You'll use the included 4pin molex to SATA adapter to power up the SATA drive. The floppy power connector is just to power up the Serillel adapter.

I can't answer your second question though, sorry.
