ABIT RMA experience ?

Anyone know about the RMA experience ? Are they usually good with trusting you or do they nitpick every detail and send you back a board saying "it tested fine" and leaves it at that ?

I have an NF7-S that I'm about to RMA... it's still covered. What about cross-shipping... I would pay $157 up front and it would be refunded back to me after they receive my board. But what if they determine there's nothing wrong with the RMA'd board... what happens with the new board I received ? Do they just do a 1-for-1 swap since it's a 2-year warranty anyway ?

I really do believe it's busted in case you think my inquiry is sketchy.

Anyway, I am running a Barton 2800+ ... is there any reason I should avoid the hassle and just buy a new mobo instead ? If so, recommend a good one pls. I may do the RMA regardless.

Did you inspect the caps to see if any were bulging or leaking? The NF-7s may have came out AFTER the cap issue was corrected, but I just sent in an Epox 8RDA mobo which had bulging caps (bought new in Feb. 02).

If you go to the Abit forums at Abit-USA some people have experienced some bad RMAs through Abit. Like not receiving their board for 6 months. Getting a motherboard back from Abit just thrown loose in a box etc. No responses from customer service. If I ever have to RMA my AX8 board I won't. I'll just get a replacement Asus.

i want to RMA my ax8.......because at the time i bought the board it said it supports x2 and yea it doesnt.....i emailed them...and they rudely said it is not their problem that there is compatibility problems....EVEN tho it was stated ont eh website.................maybe theres a chance ill get an an8 if i do....but its been like 2 weeks and still no reply.....i love abit but service sucks.

I RMA'd my Abit NF7S, w/o invoice so they charged me 25$. RMA was smooth. I don't believe I ever needed to email them about anything. There was just an RMA website/form I had to fill out and it gave me instructions after that was complete.

I did an RMA on my KT7A for bad caps, I guess it's been almost 2 years ago by now. My board was way out of warranty, but I got it replaced free of charge. I think I called the phone number I found on the site and they gave me instructions for doing the online RMA to avoid the charge.

I chose the cross shipping option, which involved paying a fee via paypal and then getting the money back via a check from Abit. As is usually the case in cross shipping situations, the fee (deposit) is alot more than the actual worth of the item in question. I'm not sure, but I think I had to put down $150, but I got it all back in the end.

I'm still waiting to receive my Epox 8RDA board back (after repair), a replacement board or at least a call/e-mail telling me what's going on with my RMA. Epox received the board on 12-20-05 and they claim it takes ~1 week (to decide what to do about my problem) and add 1 week for me to receive a mobo back (via UPS ground service).

Since Christmas was last week, I'm guessing I'll receive a board or word by early next week.

If Epox doesn't take care of me...I won't buy another Epox board again. Simple as that😉
