Hey guys,

Just built my rig with a IP35 Pro purchased from another member. Everything worked until I installed windows and then Fx glitched and then no post.

I've been reading about this and apparently these boards can have issues with Nvidia's for some reason.

Was thinking of this card

HIS Hightech H387Q512NP Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported IceQ3 Turbo Video Card - Retail

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814161217

Right about my limit is 280. I have 125+ (whatever my GB DS sells for) for a card.

Also anyone experience FX card problems with the pro? the Abit forums are all over the place about it.

I put it back into my old rig and it wouldn't go into windows xp normally, just safemode.

Wow, better hope the pro didn't kill your 7800gt. Make sure the mobo is allright, no offense to whomever you bought it from, but for your sake I hope nothing is wrong with it. You don't want it to kill your next videocard as well.

Well Marc,

I'm not sure how to "make sure my mobo is alright" I might try my room mates FX card he just bought. an 8500 GT, it it burns that one he can just burn and return at best buy I guess..

What do you think though?

Honestly it appears to be a common problem but my FX card might have blew up. Not really sure what to do.

Update. Glitched graphics in my other machine. After a nice chkdsk run and what not it worked again *whew*

At least it isn't the card. But I don't think I want to put it back on the Pro..suggestions?

Mobo's are a bitch, I'd say try the 8500gt if he let's you, it's cheap anyways, right? See how it works. If it works, it's probably something iffy between the mobo and your 7800gt, and it's a lot saver to stick in a different, new, more expensive card. You could try the 7800gt again btw, if it worked again there's no real reason to assume you can make it work a second time. Just check those other people's problems though, maybe they've tried too? And no way of rma-ing the mobo somehow ?

Apparently I'll still be able to RMA the mobo just gotta take out some mods;) at any rate unfortunately, my main computer the one with the Pentium D etc just got up and running after that nice little crash after I put the chip and card in the other rig.. I didn't have time to update the bios.

So...I don't think my board supports E8400 without a bios flash...I wonder if I could drop it in and still flash..hmmm

No problems with an AIW X800XL, 7900GS, 8800GT, 8800GTS 512MB, and three different 8800GTXes in my IP-35 Pro.

Update

Turned out the video card works in my other rig. Driver issues though, none the less, I stuck a cheap ATI in the ABIT and still no post. I believe the bios might be corrupt.

I bought a Asus P5K w/ Warranty at my local Microcenter for a good price. Works like a charm.
