6 one way, half a dozen the other. Really, it's up to you. I have the A7N8X and it's been great. =)

You're asking the same question I asked myself the last several weeks. I went ahead and just went with the A7N8X-E Deluxe. It should be here Monday or Tuesday! I can't wait! Like you, I had read the reviews, and I don't think you can really go wrong with either one. The deciding factor for me was the history I've had with Asus in other systems I've built, and that I've never had a problem with a single one of their boards. Good luck with whichever you choose!

I have the abit now but looking back at it, i probably should have gotten the asus. Not because of performance but because of the default passive cooling on the northbridge. That nb fan on the abit is loud. Dual lan also would have been nice. waiting for my svc order with my zalman northbrdige to shut this board up.

I've been an Abit man for years, but Asus also makes a great board. You can't go wrong with either one.

tomstevens26, please let us know what's different with the -E :)

The -E board has gigabit ethernet and an Asus WiFi card slot. =)

It doesn't have the new MCP-S southbridge does it?

I am a big Asus fan, both my rigs (Athlon and Intel based) run off Asus motherboards. I personally haven't opted to overclock my systems so I choose Asus because I feel they pack a little more into their motherboards in terms of features than Abit. However, if your looking to overclock your rig my experience is that Abit boards rule for overclocking!

But, like everyone else said you can't go wrong with either of em and its going to come down to what you want to do with the board.

ABIT!

I'll never use an Asus product again EVER. Bought the A7N8X Delux about a week after it was released. Firstly, BIOS issues. HORRID shipping BIOS. Completely inexcusable. Dealt with that. Now, static on the onboard sound. Its intermittent. Happens almost always in Counter Strike. I have a freind with the same board, same problem. Then, about a month or so ago the board flat out fails. Fine. I RMA it. Get my new one. Guess what? Last week THAT board fails AND takes my video card with it. So, now I'm out a board and I have to buy a new video card. The last Abit I had (K7 uber something) was a great board, no problems.

Yes, others have had good success with Asus. But I havent, and I wont recommend their products nor use them again. However, I will say Asus has good customer service.

I've experienced Asus 'customer service' and it truly sucks the big one.
I swapped my A7N8X Deluxe out for an NF7-S and love the Abit.
The NB fan on the Abit isn't overly loud.
