I was wanting an opinion on this as everyone is comparing the ASUS and Epox Nforce2 Boards.

First the layout and specs comparision.

Presonally the layout of the ABIT board seems to be better (IMO). I like the power cable, 2 in the Abits senerio, wraped up top and behind the prcesssor away from memory and Ide cables seems, less busy.

Abit has 1 NIC ASUS has 2 in the version I want. To me this is not necessary as I only use 1 as I have the router already.

ASUS has 4 USB ports before you have to use a bracket.

The reason I chose the ASUS over the ABIT.

The NIC ports seems to have lights.
Manual is posted on the website.
Many reviews of the ASUS
except for Rodney's ABIT at 3dGameman and Hexus

And I hate to say this but there is, for sure, a Keyboard power on on the ASUS board.
I love my Antec 1040 case but do not like to open the frin to turn on power everytime.

Flame me, blame me, but I voted with my wallet, Asus don't let me down.

Before I bought my latest rig (see sig) I researched every board out at the time (Epox nForce2 not out yet). I finally went with the Asus A7N8X Deluxe and I am glad that I did. Now naturally going from a PIII-600 on an Abit BX6 rev2 to an Athlon XP 2100+ on a nForce2 was a MAJOR speed/performance difference, I think I made the best choice. The A7N8X was reasonably priced ($120) and is fast and stable with enought tweaking options to keep me happy. The Abit board has some very nice features as well. I have always been a fan of Abit products, but so far, Asus gets my vote. Good luck with your purchase!
