The ABIT mainboard only support Desktop platform Processors, so didn't support mobile Processors.

Please tell me you're kidding.

Of course Abit isn't going to support a configuration that according to Intel won't work. That said, it will work on certain motherboards. But to expect your motherboard manufacturer to support it?

Sometimes noobs are really noobie! Some things are just so accepted that no one mentions them.

For the most part, mobile is not supported by the mobo manufacturer on normal (non mobile) mobos. It just happens that the later BIOSes happen to have recognition thrown in by the company that writes the BIOSes. OCers know about it, of course. But you are on your own as far as the manufacturers go. You'll have to look to the OC community for info.

So this isn't news. But maybe it'll clues-in other noobs.
