hey guys, this is screwed up. yesterday i flashed my BIOS on my Abit NV7m mobo to their newest version (has support for some faster chips and i was thinking about upgrading it). when i rebooted the computer, the internet wouldnt work--my MAC address has been changed to some nonsense address (80:80:80:80:80:3)! this has builtin ethernet, so i could see how this could happen, but how can i reflash the BIOS writing in the MAC address i had before? thanks for your help!

please email me (soltani@alumni.usc.edu) if you figure out an answer. muchas gracias!

called up abit and they told me how to fix it. you need to give the NIC the proper MAC address. in win2k, you need to get to your device manager, then Network cards, find its properties, and under advanced, you type in the MAC address (without colons, just one continuous letter/number combination). so there you go--if someone has this same problem and searches the forums, i hope they find it.

Thanks ... bought a NV7m today, and I'm thinking about flashing the BIOS. Thanks for giving me the info beforehand. :D
Is there any overclocking abilities with the new bios? Because the shipping one absolutely none.
