Abit NV7-133R and surround

Hi,

I have a Abit NV7-133R and I just picked up some Altec Lansing 251 5.1 speakers. I'm trying to get the surround to work with my NV7 133R. This board has the nvidia nforce apu in it. It has a seperate back plate for the center/sub and rears. All that seems to be hooked up. I can't get any sound out of the rear or center speaker.

Anyone have any idea what the hell I'm doing wrong?

I'm running windows Xp. I have the back plate hooked up according to the manual. (Near as I can tell it is a no brainer.)

In windows I've not found anything that looks like a volume control for the rear/centers. I've only found left/right volume controls even though I tell the system I have 5.1 speakers hooked up.

Very confused and annoyed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Download the latest nforce chipset drivers from nvidia.com.

It works now. Now I just need to determine if the slight hiss I'm getting is from the altecs or from the nforce.

I also have those speakers, I personaly think it's the speakers.

I think it isn't any worse than my old speakers. The problem is that I ditched a fan and put a new low noise HSF on my athlon and suddenly my pc makes very little noise. Maybe that fan noise was a good thing.
