This motherboard is solid when it comes to stability, especially with an early release version that we received. The NF7-S motherboard has never crashed once during intensive use, testing, and gaming.

Unfortunately, for all you big heatsink users, not a whole lot of room to work with here. To top it off, there?s no mounting holes on the motherboard either. Perhaps the shipping version of this motherboard will come with mounting holes.

Bleh, not revision 1.2....not even 1.1 for that matter. I wanna see reviews of rev. 1.2!!! :)

chizow,it`s a little strange that the review is dated 19th Feb,you would of thought Abit would of sent them a latter model.
I guess you can blame Abit ;).

Hehe yep, or they were sitting on the board a while. Some review sites may even be unaware of the diff. revisions out. Its unfortunate too, I've seen way too many people shy away from this board (1.2 should be excellent IMO) based on newly released reviews based on rev. 1.0 boards.

Note that this is cross-posted to the Abit-USA forum.

NF7-S v1.2 arrived this morning from excaliber.pc

Getting ready to install board. On inspection it is very similar to the v1.1 board but there are differences (besides the v1.2 on the sticker!)

The clearance around some of the CPU HS/fan mounting holes is definitely improved! It looks like a few parts have been relocated or replaced. This will make fitting of my big Swiftech standoffs easier.

Also there are definitely a lot of capacitor changes. Most are Rubycons.

A few new jumpers are present also -- I see at least two, near the PS2/keyboard ports and near the PS fan header.

Overall I am impressed with what I see -- it is not just a voltage regulator change. I'll report back when I'm up and running. I am hoping the new caps will give more stable voltages.

The article sited a "less than optimally placed power connector" as a CON. Is this at all mitigated by the '3 phase' power distribution and or additional 4 PIN (ala Intel) power connector?

This added feature was a reason I was leaning toward this board over the ePOX 8rda+. I'm only waiting for verification that peeps are getting v1.2s at newegg...
