Here is my setup:

Abit NF7-S motherboard
Corsair 3200LL twin pack 512 mgs
2500 Athlon XP Barton
120 gig Maxtor Sata harddrive (model #6Y120MO)
All in Wonder ATI 9800 Pro

I am having trouble install winXP. I get a message that NTLDR is missing. I downloaded MAX Blast from the Maxtor site. With this disk I can get as far as installing the SIL 3112 SATA drivers from the floppy that came with the hard drive. Then I get a message that setup cannot copy the file srv.sys. I have to exit setup.

I have the Serial ATA controller enabled in the bios. But I haven't done any serial ATA RAID setup in the configuration Utility because I only have one hard drive.

I have tried to install windows again and hit the "R" key to fix what I have done so far, but nothing happens.

I have downloaded Power Max from Maxtor web site to test the hard drive and it passes all test.

There is no option in the bios to boot from SATA.

Can anyone please help me to get windows XP to see this hard drive so that winXP can install!!!!!!!

I went ahead and installed winXP. When XP said windows may not install properly, I basically told windows to go ahead and try. I figured I could reformat the disk if it didn't install properly. After I installed windows, I went into the bios and made the serial ATA controller the first boot. (there still was no option in the bios to make SATA the first boot) I have installed all software, etc. Everything seems to be working fine. Wow......I guess I was lucky. Thanks for your help
