I recently built another computer with the NF7-S and it has been running fine for 3 month's but now is giving me some problems. It will just randomly shutdown, then the onbboard speaker will give off a weird sirens(sounds like the european siren with alternating high and low). I was suspecting heatring, so I have been watching the temp from nvidia's utility, stays between 47-59, which I know is not great but it shouldn't be tripping the overheat protection.

My computer has an antec 430 watt powersource 3 case fans, an Themalright slk-900(a) with artic silver cremique. I will attempt to re-apply the heatsink adn verify that everything is ok, because I suspect a heating issue. But I would like to know if anyone has any idea what is causing the problem. Thanks for any help.

If you're using the abit hardware monitoring software, check to see what the max temps are before the alarm goes off. You should be able to change the setting.

Yossarian451,

Read this thread, it sounds like the exact problem you are having:

Infamous Two-Tone Siren

Apparently its a common issue with NF7-S motherboards.

I have experienced the same thing with mine as well, and this fixed it.

Thank you sooo much. I am sorry for my late reply, but I don't have any internet right now, I have to goto school and since I have a nice 2 hour split between classes right now I can post. I will try this tonight, I hope it works.

It worked like a charm. I really appreciate the help. It saved me some sanity, especially since I still don't have internet access at home to have really looked for the solution. Thanks again.
