Abit NF7-S and "broken record" sounds in DirectX games

When I play a certain game with my NF7-S onboard audio, I sometimes get a "broken record" effect where the sound will just get caught in a loop. If I move my character around a little, the loop changes what is actually being looped (I.E. say at first it's looping "1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, etc.", I move around a bit, then it goes to "3, 4, 5, 3, 4, 5, 3, 4, etc.").

I don't believe that this is a temp. issue, as it holds steady at full load between 40C and 42C. Also, if I quit the game, then open it right back up, immediately afterward, the sound works fine for a while -- that is, until it starts the problem again.

Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for the help! :)

Do oyu have the newwest drivers? And also check to see if there is a patch for the game. A lot of games did not work well sound wise, when the nForce2 came out, so they had to patch them to work rigth.

Well, this is a MMORPG game in particular, and is patched at least once every two weeks automatically (and if you aren't patched you don't play, basically ;) ). So I'm definitely running the latest patch.

However, they may not know of the problem, so I'll send a feedback report to them. I have noticed that I never run into this problem playing other games...

I've never had that issue but I did get alot of reverb in ETM when I played it before the 3.13 UDPs. It was all due to bad EAX support. What driver version are you using?

I'm now using the November 3rd release 3.66 audio driver, I'll see if that fixes it...
