I just cant choose between the two. If you own either, please let me know of any problems youve had, oc success stories, and general ease of use (board layout and stability)

Thx

Actually, newegg has the nf7-s REFURB cheaper than the epox 8rda, should I go that route?

are REFURB's okay or is there a chance of fining resistors and transistors rollin around in the box when I get it?

I have the 8RDA and think it is great so far, bought it when they first came out. I have not had a chance to try for 200+MHz FSB yet due to Ram constraints, but hopefully today my PC3500 will arrive and I can at least reach 200MHz with-out mods.

The on board sound is better than most mid teir (25-$35) sound cards IMHO, and you can always add something better latter. My only real gripe is that there is no legacy USB mouse support, so if you have to get into safe mode (Win98se here) you have to remember to use a PS2 dongle for your USB mouse before booting into Safe Mode.

I wouldn't buy a refurb. The 8RGA+ is out with adustable VDD up tp 2.0 .It has onboard video and costs a little more but has some the adjustable VDD as mentioned. The 8RDA+ (newer version) ,NF7-S ver.1.2 and 8RGA+ are all good boards.

I think Newegg has a 30day on re-furbs, but that looks like a good deal if you're bargain hunting. But you better act quick. Most people that buy re-furb stuff from Newegg say they get all the origional goodies, but Newegg just does'nt garantee it.

You cant use USB mice in win 98se, or just the safe mode??

I got the 8RDA+...super solid board...easiest install I ever did (I was actually disappointed, no challenge!!!) The on board sound chip is DaBomb, and it has a nice fast Ethernet port too. I have not OC'd it yet as I just upgraded from a Duron, so I am very happy to leave it as is for now. As for the board layout, I thought at first I wouldn't like where the ATX power is (kind of in the middle), but it was really no problem. In fact, with round cables, the inside of case is really open and clean (good air flow!) I put a TBred B 2100+ on it and life is good. Lotsa room for a big HSF too.

I have a KN7-S v1.2. It has done everything I have asked within reason. If you want all the bells and whistles this is a good choice.
