Looking to see what brand and model RAM sticks you guys are using.

Getting a headache trying to get onboard video to work without screen corruption and random reboots. The Corsair value select isn't working very well and Kingston Hyper-X had much of the same problems. I had some old Corsair PC-2100 (running a Barton 2500+) laying around and so far that is working.

Not sure if I should just RMA the board and go with the Shuttle everyone around here likes...

Thanks guys :)

Bump! No one owns this board? I am begining to understand why :frown: it's a *bleep* to get working with onboard video and it's nothing like its big brother the NF7-S

Well, I have the MSI K7N2G-L and have the same problem with the onboard video. Works great for the most part, but if I run Prime95 TT the 'puter locks up after about 9 min with some video corruption. I am using Samsung PC2700 on this machine. I.m starting to wonder if its a driver problem rather than hardware.

Had the same problem with a Leadtek board and Corsair Value Select PC3200. Corruption and Random reboots...RMAd the board to NewEgg, should have new one by Monday.

I even tried my Corsair XMS3500C2 with similar results....what's the deal?

Well so far I tried Kingston Hyper-X in my board and it didn't like that. Then I tried Corsair Value Select and it didn't like that either. I used my Corsair XMS RAM from my main rig in there and it ran fine (go figure) with the onboard video, but I am building this computer for someone who is on a budget so XMS won't do. I just RMA'ed the Corsair Value Select in favor of some Buffalo winbond RAM. If that doesn't work then I think I will RMA the board and get the Shuttle that everyone speaks so highly of around here.

I've looked around in the Abit and nforcersHQ forums and it seems like a few other people have the same issues and it's only happening with the onboard video. So if you are using a stand alone video card there doesn't seem to be any issues. There weren't enough people responding to get an idea of which RAM actually works well.

Well I am going to update this thread for the archives incase anyone else runs into memory problems like I did :)

I finally got this board to work with the onboard graphics and dual channel RAM. Using Buffalo DDR400/PC3200 Unbuffered-ECC memory did the trick. I now get zero screen corruption, no random reboots and I can complete all benchmarking tests without error.

I also got mine working....I downloaded the latest Bios which added an option for "Memory Pre-Fetch". When I keep this option disabled, my Corsair ValueRam PC3200 works like a charm. Getting 3DMark2K1 scores in the 4800 range on a Duron 1600@2070Mhz, FSB @ 180 (Memory @ 180), Graphics Core clocked to 275Mhz (stock is 200Mhz), and 52.16 drivers.

I installed a Zalman Northbridge HS with the stock NB fan, moved the stock NB HS to the SouthBridge. Allows me to clock up the Graphics Core to well over 275Mhz from stock 200Mhz. At this point the Memory bandwidth is an issue because it is not stable above 180Mhz FSB.
