My friend just gave me a ABIT VT6X4 Motherboard which was working perfectly fine in his system. When I installed it in mine computer, I was able to boot up, but after about 30-60 seconds the motherboard totally loses power and my computer shuts off. I isolated it to the motherboard by taking everything out of the motherboard, including RAM and CPU, and just plugging in the power supply. Again, after 30-60 seconds, it shuts off.

Any ideas what would cause something like this?

Either your 1) power supply is dead, 2) your motherboard is shorting somewhere, or 3) something else is drawing too much current from your power supply.

See if your motherboard is drawing too much power from your power supply. If it is, then your power supply will operate for only a few seconds until it overheats then it'll shut up like it did. If that's not the problem, then try leaving your power supply on without anything conencted and check the voltages coming out of it after a couple of minutes.
