This one has got me pulling my hair out. Not to mention one heck of a headache. Ok here's the deal. I removed an Abit BF6 (working perfectly) from my WinME system and installed it in a friends WinME system in anticipation of installing a new BE6II rev. 2.0 in my own system.
When I installed the new BE6II in my system it won't boot with anything but one PCI card in it and only in one particular slot (slot #3).
I've moved the cards all over the place but no go.

Now here's the weird thing. The BF6 that I took out of my system and put in my friends does the identical same thing. But if I put it back in my system it works no problems. There is something going on here that I do not know about.

I've already tried changing the power supply.

So here it is in a nutshell.
1.BF6 in my system works fine with all PCI cards.
2.BF6 in friends system won't boot with PCI cards.
3.BF6 back in my system works.
4.Brand new BE6II ver. 2.0 in my system won't boot with PCI cards in any slot except slot #3.

HEEEEELLLPPPP!!!!!

When you install more cards, you are probably pressing the mobo down and creating a short to ground of a trace on the underside of the mobo. Check that you only have standoffs on the required holes in the mobo.

try clearing the CMOS? your board may still be trying to reuse the previous settings... as for your new BE6 II, try clearing the CMOS anyway just to be sure, and try to setup the computer even if the PCI cards aren't detetcing, once into windows, delete all the old rivers for the PCI cards and shutdown, replce the cards one by one and boot each time to see if they hook up... if that doesn't work, consider saving your personal stuff and clean installing = P
