Hey:
I'll try and make this intro quick. I bought a Athlon XP 2000+ to go in my Asus A7V266E a few weeks ago. The CPU was bad. It also fried the Asus (not OC'ing). AMD was nice enough send me out a new CPU. So, i bought an Abit KX7-333R to go with the 2000+.
Here's what the problem is. The board boots at 1250MHz, (12.5 x 100MHz), as reported by WCPUID and the BIOS. This is all the cpu will boot at. Wether I select "2000+" from the SoftMenu3 section in the BIOS, or set the mult manually at 12.5 and FSB at 133, the board wont even POST and I get a black screen. Now here's the kicker.......I have a 1700+ which will work great in the board, (I still have to select 1700+ in BIOS). the only think I can think of is a bug in the BIOS. And there are no BIOS updates available yet.
Has anybody heard of this problem and/or has this problem?????
Any input would be welcome.
