There are two ABIT KX7-333 Motherboards, the RAID ( Redundant Array of Independent Discs ) is a feature that can use from 2 to 4 additional hard drives to collect and store data. You don't really need this feature unless you are building a server capabile computer.

The XP1600+ is a Socket A CPU so it will work.

The VIA chipset is the process routing control resident to the motherboard that directs command functions on the system.

Get the KX7-333 without the RAID, you probably won't need it.

The ABIT KX7-333 comes in 2 flavors, with RAID controller and without RAID controller.
It has the VIA KT333 chipset, it's a Socket A mobo for Athlon, Athlon XP, Duron, the AMD processors, it has nice features, now it's up to you to get the RAID version or the non-RAID version of the mobo.
If you plan to build a RAID array or just put more HDDs than the normal get then the RAID version.
You might wait and see what others owners of this mobo will say about it. I remember while ago that I read something about the TBred support that U needed to RMA this mobo to get the support. So you might check the latest versions of this mobo and see if it already support the TBreds.
It's a good mobo, stable, 4 DIMMs, got nice oc features.
I think you should consider the Epox mobos, 8K5A2+(with RAID controller) or 8K5A2(non-RAID), has USB 2.0, and IMO the BEST OCer out there, dont know if you plan to OC too. And it has full support for TBreds.

About a $15 difference between the version of this board with RAID and the one without RAID. If ya don't know what RAID is ya probably don't need it. In short, RAID is using multiple hard drives to obtain increased storage space, speed (striping), fault-tolerance or a mixture of the three.;)

Thanks guys.
But I again got confused when I was searcing for that motherboard.
I got this description--
ABIT KX7-333 KT333 UDMA133 4DDR 6PCI 1AGP4X ATX
What does UDMA133 mean?
At some sites I don't see this as part of a description.
Is there any difference or its just in the description...
Thank you.

"ABIT KX7-333 KT333 UDMA133 4DDR 6PCI 1AGP4X ATX"

This version does not have RAID.

UDMA133 - ATA133 is the same thing. It's the command stream data flow rate from the IDE headders that connect from the motherboard to the components, optical drives, hard drives, etc. The ATA133 data rate requires you to use the 80 wire ribbon cable (or round cables) to take advantage of the faster data rate capability. They can handle any data stream speed slower than the rating, for example the 133 can work with the 100, 66, or 33 equipment, but the fastest speed realized will be that of the equipment itself. An ATA100 can not go faster than the 100, even if it's on a ATA133 capabile system.

I just helped build a KX7-333 with an XP1600+, and it starts, is recognized, and runs as an XP2100+ when tweaked with the BIOS settings.
When you get it working it will be a very fast reliable system.
