Abit KV8-Max 3, socket 754. Need help removing stock heatsink backplate

Hello,

Earlier today i was helping a friend w/ his KV8-Max3. Im attempting to install a Thermalright slk-948u onto this board for him. I have already removed the stock heatsink, however the slk requires me to remove the backplate piece as well. This is where the trouble lies. Can anyone help explain to me how i remove the stock heatsink backing?(on the back of the mobo) It looks like i just pry it off carefully w/ a screwdriver, but its not mine and i dont want to make the mistake. After that i should have no problem installing the heatsink.

So again, if anyone can help me determine how to remove the back plate of a stock AMD socket 754 heatsink, on an Abit KV8-Max3, please let me know.

Thank You,
Vain

Are you talking about the black piece on top of the mobo? if so just unscrew it, they're 2 screws on my msi board.
