I'm trying to build a PC with the newly bought Abit KV7, Athlon Barton core CPU with 333Mhz FSB, and 512M Kbyte DDR PC2100 (266Mhz) memory. After I hooked them altogether, the monitor didn't show anything. Neither did I hear of one short beep. When the display card was removed, I did hear one long beep and two short beeps. What will be the cause? Is it because the frequency of my DDR (266Mhz) doesn't match the frequency of CPU (333Mhz FSB)?

Thanks a lot.

I'm not the best to help w/ur ?. But I'll try (at least you'll get a bump). Your mobo should accept that ram. If not I think you get the bad ram beep code (I'm guessing you've got award bios?-if so I think it is a long beeep that repeats). Try reseting the cmos (unplug computer then reset jumper or take out battery and wait a minute). If it still won't POST, take out the mobo and connect only cpu, ram and gfx card. Hook up power and power button connections and see if it will post , if not you should hear the error (beeo) code and that will help a little w/troubleshooting. Good Luck :)
