It's fast. Not DDR fast... but just KT133A fast. It's a pretty-looking low budget board. I was looking at this myself but its upgrade options are becoming limited.

Actually the KT7E is not KT133A, it is the KT133*E* which is a different chipset. It does not support 133/266 mhz FSB, only 100/200. I would avoid this board and any other board based on KT133E unless the price is very good. You will be limited to 100mhz Thunderbirds (which are disapearing) and Duron's. I doubt the difference in price between it and a KT133A could be enough to justify it.

I'm not sure how KT133E differs from the original KT133, or why it was even released...

3 of my friends, including myself have a KT7E before we moved DDR. I used it, overclocked , color match it(blue), and compared it to the KT7A and here's the scope:

The KT7E is a kick ass motherboard. Yup, you heard me, Kick ass.. :Q
The chipset used is either a KT133 chip that's Supercharge/turbo with NOs plus full stage modification. Or a KT133A chip that doesn't meet the require specifitions. My friends and I were pretty sure that the Chip is infact KT133A and not KT133.

It doesn't offically support 133 FSb, but everyone that has this board have no problem at 133 FSB(stable), and you can overclocked it just as good as a KT7A, YES, all the way to 145 Mhz for me. ( you need good ram)

If you check out some of the reviews on the net, most compare this to the KT7A and the only differences is the Color and the price.

The layout of the board is the same as the KT7A, They can both you the same Bios, and both have the same Sound blaster problem,( the dam Via 686b southbridge chip).

I used the board for over 6 months with no problems at all.

But here are the sad news if you're planing to get the KT7E now.,, :( Just like most of the KT7A and KT7A-Raid they don't offically support the new Athlon XP CPU, I'm sure you can run it, just not every ounce ot it.

Sorry... didn't mean to mislead you by telling you its just as fast as KT133A... but i wouldn't be comparing it to a KT133A if i didn't know it wasn't a KT133A right?... The KT133E chipset does not support a 133FSB but you can clock it to 133 with no problem and its just as fast as a KT133A is what I meant. You can have these board for like $70 now... i would get one if i actually had the time and money to color match my whole system. People say the KT133E was released for the mobile market... dunno about that one though. :)
