Hi,

I can't consider wether I should buy an Asus A7V133 or an Abit KT7A. I prefer the Abit one because it has one more PCI Slot and an ISA Slot, which would prevent me from buying a new ISDN Card.
My main concern against the Abit Board is that I fear what happens if I overclock my System so far, that it won't even boot up. Is it possible to reset the Softmenu settings with some kind of jumper or dip switch? Or wouldn't I be able to use my System any more after I overclocked it too far...

Thanks for your help!

Stefan

:>

Got the aswer for you...

Also i´ve o.c. over the limit... but you Reboot to the default CPU settings (FSB & Multiplier) just by PRESSING "INSERT" AT THE SAME TIME YOU TURN ON THE PC!!! Don´t worry about it...

The Abit BIOS is more User Friendly... i´m very happy about mine!!!

It's always possible to permanently damage something by overclocking, especially by changing the voltages. But if you tweak it up slowly then it's unlikely.

The ABit KT7/KT7A motherboards let you reset the BIOS to its default settings by holding down the Insert key while the system is booting. In extreme cases, this won't work. There is a jumper on the motherboard that can be used to manually reset the BIOS settings when the Insert key doesn't work. It's very easy to do.
