ABIT KT7A-RAID CPU Compatibility?

Eric650

I went to www.abit.com and it redirected me to www.motherboards.com. I looked up my current mobo, abit kt7a-raid, and it says it supports:

"Supports AMD-K7 Athlon 700MHZ-1.2GHZ or future 266MHz FSB Socket A Processors "

My question is, does that mean Athlon XP processors are compatible? (im looking at buying the XP 2000+). Also, will DDR ram work also?

Thanks alot,
Eric

Eric650,

According to Abit, only the kt7a version 1.3 or higher is intended to support the XP and MP processors. All versions below 1.3 are not designed to work with the XP and MP and may or may not work, depending on pure luck!:frown:
To find out what version of the board you have, look for a white sticker either on the bottom of the ISA slot or next to the PCI slots at along the back edge of the board. The sticker will have a string of numbers on it and will say "v1.x", where x is the version number.
