ABIT KT7A-RAID and XP

I am currently running stable my 1.2 tbird (266) on this board. Last night I rebooted and enabled the Secondary IDE and RAID IDE. XP installed the drivers without a hitch. My question is this: I am putting a new (RMAed) CDRW today or Friday and I want my cdrom and cdrw and hard drive on different controllers (to improve the speed (I think)). Anywho. I want to put my cdrom on IDE1 master, my cdrw on IDE2 master, and my harddrive on IDE3 (raid) master. Will this work without messing XP up. I dont have the time or patience to go back and reinstall every last piece of software. Will this screw things up? PLEASE HELP ME ASAP.

I know you'd be fine with that set up in any other OS (as I have the same setup in Win98SE), but not sure if it will muck up the "activation' of XP. Hope it works out for you!

My KR7A is configured with CD/R-RW at IDE1, CD/ROM at IDE2 and single HD at IDE3 under HPT raid controller.

The only 'gotcha' I've found is that only the first two partitions of a multiple-partition HD will be recognized at IDE3 or IDE4. If you have more than 2 partitions on your HD, partitions 3 or higher will not be accessible.

Just enable RAID controller and set HD as ATA133RAID boot device in the boot sequence and plug the HD ribbon connector to either IDE3 or IDE4.

But will this work for the ABIT KT7A-RAID? I have the RAID installed under XP (just the drivers). I have no partitions on this drive. Will this screw up my installation of XP or not via the activation crap. LMK ASAP.
