Abit KT7a Question

Well first my system specs:
512 mb sdram @ 100mhz
1 ghz duron, 200mhz fsb
abit kt7a rev 1.2 or 1.3
msi gf4 ti4200 128mb

Anyways at the moment I don't really have the money to spend on a brand spanking new system, whether it be a step up to an Athlon XP system or a smart upgrade to a socket 939 based system, so I was thinking of purchasing a 1.8 ghz duron because that would allow me to play HL2 and other games with reasonable framerates (oc'n my duron to 1.2 ghz gave me fps boosts of 10-15 fps -- so I figure +800 mhz will probably get me into the playability range for most games). But according to Abit's website the maximum cpu speed the board can handle is 1.4ghz, now I am just wondering if that is really the limit or can the motherboard handle more than that?
