Which mobo should I plum for, for a really good gaming platform. I have a 1.4 GHz Athlon with 266 fsb and 256 Mb CL2 SDRAM. Which would be best for overclocking, speed, etc.

They'd be about the same for gaming, they have the same chipset. The Abit KT7A has better settings for overclocking; that's why I bought one. I'm not sure about the Asus, though.

They are very good mobos. Very stable, oc very well too.
But ppl say the Asus A7V133 oc a little bit better than the Abit KT7A, having better results with Asus.
The best OC is the Iwill KK266 mobo, with the KT133A chipset.
And with the Asus you will have RAID too, unless you go for the Abit KT7A-RAID.

Good luck on ur pick!
