On building my newest computer system I get no video output when I power on the computer. Everything seems to start normally and then it just sits there and does nothing. Is this a motherboard problem, as I have tried several different video cards, or a common problem that has an easily fixable solution. I'm running an ABIT KT7A motherboard with a 1000MHz AMD T-bird processor.

Thanks.

Clear the CMOS (look in the manual), then pull the power cord out of the back of the PSU, press the power button a few times to discharge it, then plug it back in and try again.

Also check your graphics card and RAM are seated properly on their slots.

no d00d heres the prob....AMD has the same trouble as did I and a friend of mine did as well I called AMD and they said b/c of this they pulled any abit kt7a off the support list for the 1gig chip so you arent doing anything wrong ABIT has just been dropping the ball alot. some ppl are getting it to work with a slower chip but who wants a combo with issues. I get mine to pwr on by booting then cut pwr to supply and the plug it back in and then boot mine comes up everytime! Mabe if we all complain enuff to ABIT they'll get on the ball and off thier asses and fix this $hite

metenb33rs: I am running a 1 Ghz TBird @1.224 Ghz on a KT7A board. There was no problem using the chip at any speeds near or below 1 Ghz either. There are a number of peeps on this board who have this setup. I initially had the same prob, but then clearing the CMOS fixed all that. This system is rock solid right now.
