Abit KT7A & M.S.I. 8831 GF2 GTS-PRO won't post or Install

After reading lots of posts on this forum, i've realized there is a lot of smart folks sharing their experiences & knowledge.. Kudos to you all..
My problem is that the MSI 8831 GTS-PRO will not be recognized by my system [will not post, no display what-so-ever] Got this card from NewEgg for $152 & was really looking forward to improving video over my Diamond Viper 770 TNT_2 card..
I'm running 1.2 Thunderbird on Abit KT7A MB with 256 meg crucial ram...
Will contact NewEgg monday about replacing card unless someone knows of problem or conflict...

Wow. Am in the process of building the exact system. I have the mobo and the ram. I'm about to buy the 1.2 tbird and the MSI card from newegg. There seems to be a lot of confusion about the geforce pro. I read that its suppossed to ship w/ 5 ns ram, but the MSI 831 on Newegg comes with 5.5 ns ram. Also, people seem to think many pro cards are actually enhanced GTS cards. Are you sur that your card is the PRO and not a GTS that's suped up? Anyway, good luck w/ your problem. Let me know how it turns out.
 
The leadtech boards are enhanced with 5.5ns mem & 200/366
While this dead MSI 8831 does have 5ns mem & 200/400
Also for perfomance to dollar retio; i'd go with 1.33ghz chip for $20 to $35 more
I'm contacting newegg about another MSI card or even leadtech, to replace this dead ah heck..
Don't know why NewEgg is listing the mem as 5.5 ns that wasn't there when i ordered mine.. Gary h
