Abit kt7a cooling

I have an abit kt7a with a 1.2ghz athlon in a enlight 7237 case. Right now, the temp for the mobo is about 34 C and the processor is about 47 C. Are these temps OK?

Also I am running redhat linux 7.1 and was wondering what the best software was for monitoring the temp while linux is running.

Any suggestions, questions, or comments would be great.

well cpu temsp seem good but is that load temps or idle if idle then there perty high also for linux not a clue sowwy i cant help. And for the mobo might i suggest to add maybe a better cooler on the norhtbridges since i do not like having my mobo over 30c(but i wont hurt anything thats for sure) but i guess im just picky

The cpu temp is the idle temp. It seemed a little high to me too. Should I worry about it or just let it go? Will this temp damage the cpu at all?

I have the same Case and MoBo, but with a Duron 800MHz@900MHz. I only have the stock cooling in the case, with a pretty cheap CoolerMaster HSF. Reight now my temps are 26C system, 29C CPU(at idle). I have the Duron at 9x multiplier and 1.7V Core. Your system seems pretty hot to me. How many fans do you have in the case? I only have the stock one in the front, one in the rear, and the power supply fan. Gutes Glück.

Lower your Core Voltage to 1.70 in the bios. The motherboard employs a high Vcore for a safety precation. When setting vcore at 1.70 it is really 1.75 and I've been running stable at that volatage for months! Lower's your temp around 3-4C. <~~~ Just a start!🙂

Hey, I have a Abit KT7A-Raid and an T-Bird 1.0 and my temps are always near 43-45 at idle too. My CPU voltage is 1.6725 which gives me 1.73-1.74... I use a standard little sh1t fan and heatsink but i'm planning on getting a better one in the very near future 'cause my system hang pretty much anytime I make it work a bit...

Anybody has a suggestion?

For a stock setup I think mine is pretty ok. Antec sx1040 with 4 80mm fans and of course the ps. Swiftec mc 462a rev1. AT idle now surfing the net (acpi is enabled for the halt command) case is 25c and cpu is 26c. In any kind of 100% load situation the cpu will be 19c (maybe 20c) above case. So if it gets up to 30c (hey ac ain't free I pay the bills) which it does in summer in afternoon cpu gets to 49c. Of course I have my cpu oc to 1565 @1.84 volts which is about 90+ watts. SO one way of looking at it is that I have about $200 invested in cooling. I also have a 1560 athlon. HTH

Well, I put in a new fan in the back and that has taken the mobo temp down to about 26 C, which I am happy with. The processor is still in the high 40's. How can I get this down? Do I just need to get a better fan and heatsink?
