Abit KT7A boot problems?

I have had the kta7 for about a week now, and I wanted to install a new operating system becaus windows crapped out on me. But, when I set the motherboard to boot off cdrom, it does not. It does nothing, but boots straight into the OS. The k7ta will boot off a floppy, if a floppy is installed, but I don't want to do that. I want to boot off of a cd.

Has anyone had this problem? Can anyone help me with it? Do I just need a Bios update, if so where can I get it?

Two things come to mind.
In your BIOS you can set the order in which the devices boot. Set your CD-Rom to 1st if it isn't already.
Also make sure that the settings are "Auto" for detection of IDE devices. ie the cd-rom drive(s).

Those two things are required for a cd-rom to be bootable.
There is the outside chance that you have a non-bootable cd-rom drive, but I haven't seen one of those for a long time.
