Abit kt7a and visor syncing problems

Has anyone successfully used a usb sync with a handspring visor? I have read in a few places that there are problems with the via chipset and visors but they do not say if there is a fix or not. Oh yeah, i am running win2k pro, I have tried just about everything and am stuck, any advice? Please has anyone gotten this to work?
