The Abit KT7A (yes i found a place that sells them) and the 1Ghz tbird I ordered should be here by thursday!
I hope I can make it to at least 1.2 with the PAL6035, maybe ill get lucky and hit 1.3!?
I'll post after I set up to tell how it turns out...
I am worried about one thing, i have a 250W power supply, and Im worried the tbird, especially at 1.2, will demand more power. I also have 3 case fans, 2 hdd's, 1 cdrom, and 1 cdrw...
one thing i dont have is the cash to buy a new 300+W power supply. will my current one be ok?
is there anything else i should know before putting together this system (this is my first time building an amd system)?

I would say depending on what other drives and goodies you have installed it may do different things.. may not boot at all.. or may boot but then lockup in games where the 3d Card is drawing more power.. or lock during disk access..

where did you end up buying the board and processor from? I would like to get both from the same shop.

well I bought the board from ajump.com, and the tbird from pcboost.com. i would suggest looking at pricewatch.com to find a place that sells both for a good price. thanks for the help...
tnt2 ultra, sb live, modem, nic.... i certainly hope everything will run off that 250W ps. how much does a high quality 300 or 350 watt ps go for anyway?

There are a lot of posts on the net about psu requirements and problems with low W psu's and AMD cpu's. There is a page with the tested / recomended psu in the AMD site.
The symptoms, when over two years ago my system suddenly started beeing unstable, i set the cpu in its default fsb and voltage and the system continued beeing unstable. I then opened the case and started disconnecting, first the 2 case fans, then the CDrom. And after that it run stably. When i replaced the psu with a 300W one and recconected everything, all was fine. And btw, when the above happened, i had not added any component to the system.
When you set it up, try to use something like 9 x 133 = 1197 and compare it with 12 x 100 = 1200. Let us know how high an fsb you can get ?
Good luck with the setup.

thanks ill give it a try...
im really hoping for 9X133, i hear that its pretty likely i can hit it. im really afraid that this 250W ps just wont cut it, but ive heard high quality ones can really handle more than they are rated at. theres only one way to find out i guess...
