Spent yesterday building a new box (KT7-RAID/1GHz Tbird/Crucial 256M CAS2/Elsa Gladiac GF2/(1) IBM 45G 75GXP/Intel Pro100 NIC/SBLive/Enermax 430W Athlon approved PS and installing Win98SE, the machine is doing a couple of odd things and I'm not sure if they're BIOS or driver related or what.

I installed the VIA 4.23 drivers that came with the MB. Have not yet installed drivers for the GeForce card, 'cause I'm not sure which ones to download (stability is more important than speed, so any recommendations are welcome :)

(1st question - this is the important one!) The problem that I'm seeing is the computer will have to cycle several times when restarted, and sometimes locks on reboot. I though it might have been something with the power cutting off before the HD can do its thing (my other old non-ATX '98 box goes through an orderly shutdown, and tells you it's OK to turn off the computer, this one you go to start/shutdown and it's lights out, like now!) I don't mind waiting for the box to do an orderly shutdown (beats multiple re-boots!), is there some setting I'm missing in the BIOS or somewhere that will accomplish this?

(2nd question, not as important) If I ever get the thing running reliably, might want to goose the performance just a tad, are there certain higher performance Bios settings that are ones to avoid? (from a stability standpoint)

Any advice would be much appreciated!
