Abit KT7 - support Duron 800??

As stated in the topic, I would like to know if the Abit KT7 (without Raid), will support a Duron 800. I just bought my parts today, the mobo and the cpu. As I read the mobo manual, it said it only suppor Durons of speed 600-750. Am I out of luck? Or is this just a misprint in the manual. Please let it be a misprint =). Has anyone ran a Duron 800 on this mobo, and have it run perfectly ok? And btw, what kind of heatsink do you recommend I get?

I'm sure you will be fine. I say this because I have a D700 running at 1083MHz on the same mobo. Since the bios allows for the multipliers, etc. it should recognize your D800. As for what heatsink and fan to use, for what it's worth, I'm using a Cooler Master DP5-6H11.

I don't think that would be a problem, I have a the same fan as dan on my Duron 750, mine is running at default speed at the moment given that I had a bit of difficulty putting the fan on because the clips were a bit funny, so it's hastle to connect the connector for o/c.

I believe that it supports all Socket A CPU's up to 1200mhz, perhaps with some bios updates for higher speed durons (probably 900mhz+)

The reason the manual says that is that it was probably written before the Duron 800 was released. It should support it though.

Thanks for the info Stickhead, means I have slightly better upgrade posibility.

Definately better than my old motherboard which offered at best an upgrade from my K6-3 450 to a K6-3 500, great.
