I'm getting some random lockups... and I'm looking for some solutions... Does XP require the installation of 4in1's? I read that my memory could be configured 'incorrectly' (although I'm not sure how) Typically the lockups happen when I'm playing a game (ie: Ghost Recon) the screen freezes, everything stops responding and the sound that was playing, loops quickly. I'm really not sure whats going on, and the lockups only happen once in a while (they happend a LOT when playing Medal of Honor), i've recently upgraded my video card, and the lockups have continued to take place (previously a gf2 GTS-64, now gf4 4400-128)

here's my system:

Abit kt7-raid (with raid enabled, 2x 75gxp's raid-0)
256 mb crucial pc133
geforce4 4400 (verto)
sblive platnium 5.1 (in slot 4, as suggested in a faq I read)
edit: Athlon tbird 1.2ghz

thanks for any help you can offer

Not sure what is causing your lock up issue.

I do know that gaming on XP with 256MB RAM is a headache on a good day. I'd suggest 512MB

BTW, 4-in1's are included in XP. Still, d/l the latest 4-in-1's.

I purchased a 256 stick of crucial, and plopped it in my machine (total now: 512mb) as well as downloaded/installed the latest 4in1's. I didnt realize that 256 wasnt enough ram to run XP nicely. I've noticed quite a bit of a speed improvement, as well as increased stability.

thanks!
