What have I to do to get this to work? I already have the newest bios KT73C which supports multipliers up to 17 !!

Please, I need some good ideas.

TIA

Won't have a prob, but I'd do the pencil trick and set the multiplier to 133x10.5 so you have the performance of the 266fsb

hmm good, but what if the screen is just blank after the PC start and I cannot get into the bios ... ?!?

did anyone actually USE a 1,4 Ghz TB (200 FSB) in the Abit KT7 RAID??

I'm not sure if it just does not technically work or if the CPU is dead.

You can't do that with a KT7 dood. The chipset will not run at 133.

I'm sure that the mobo is fine. It runs great with my Duron 700. But when I insert the TB 1,4 Ghz, then the screen gets no signal after starting the PC ?!? After changing the CPU to the Duron again the PC just boots up normally...
either the TB 1,4 Ghz is dead or the bios does not support the 1,4 Ghz TB.

I have the latest bios ...

See below & refer to:

http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kt7/kt7faq.htm

1: TRY - RESTORE BIOS DEFAULTS BEFORE CHANGING PROCESSOR

2: Version 3C (11 June 2001)
Suitable for KT7, KT7-RAID, KT7A, KT7A-RAID, KT7E

HPT370 RAID BIOS version 1.11.0402
BIOS compile date: 05/11/2001
Reported bugs - INCLUDES:
Apparently incorrectly recognises 5x multiplier. eg. 5.0x100 gives 14.0x36(504), 5.0x133 = 14.0x48. This is due to the way AMD have re-used the x5 multiplier pin configuration on the 1400MHz processor to denote a 14x multiplier. As 500MHz Thunderbirds were never produced, the BIOS assumes x5 means x14 and so calculates the bus speed as 500/14=36 or 665/14=48. This is a display issue only: the correct FSB and multiplier are used.

Hope it helps
