Abit KT7 RAID Vs Soltek SL-75KAV-X

😕

Could someone kindly tell me which motherboard to get comparing the Abit KT7RAID and the Soltek SL-75KAV-X?

I am buying a Thunderbird 1.2GHz and I know that the major differnces between these two mobos are 1) Abit has got RAID (which I hope someone could tell me what this does) and that 2) Soltek has KT133A and 686B.

Many thanks.

I can't tell you about the Soltek but with the added raid controller on the Abit you can set up a raid hard drive system or use it for connecting 4 additional hard drives. Basically raid is a method of using 2 or more (up to 4 in this case) for added redundancy or faster transfer of data. The new abit raid board also has the kt133a chipset, but won't be available for a couple of weeks yet.

The SOLTEK has the Auto Overclocking feature. Both the MSI Pro2 Turbo and the Gigabyte 133A mobo have Promise RAID which is much better than Highpoint.
