I recently put together a system consisting of an Abit KT7-RAID motherboard, AMD Duron 600, 128mb of RAM, Mitsumi 4804te CD drive, and a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 15 gig UDMA 66 hard drive. The hard drive is connected to my IDE1 controller. It seems I cannot enable UDMA in Windows ME and the bios at the same time or my computer will freeze while loading programs in Windows . I have all the latest drivers from VIA and upgraded my bios from Abit. If anyone has any suggestions on how I can enable UDMA it will ne greatly appretiated, as my hard drive speed is extremely slow.

Put your HD on the RAID controller. It seems to be an issue with maxtor drives. The Highpoint BIOS with enable ATA66 for you. Worked for me.
