abit kt7 raid question...Host clk + pci? does this mean i am utilizing my pc133 ram ??

hey all..
i was wonderign exactly what this does. i have two 128pc133 sticks of kingston value ram, and i have this setting set as such. sandra states that im running a memory bus of 133. what does this have to do with FSB? i am a little confused on some ofthese settings and hope someone ca tell me the difference between this seeting or a 133 FSB?

This setting allows the memory to run asynchronously from the FSB. Basically it adds the PCI bus speed (33Mhz) to the FSB (100Mhz) to allow your RAM to run at a different speed than the FSB. Does that make any sense?

i guess it does...but i guess i was confused on how it all worked together...i thought the fsb was the determining factor in the speed of the ram. thanx! does anyone else have more specific details on this? what benefits form the ram running faste rthan the FSB?

Basically by running the memory at a faster speed you are able to push more data (bandwidth).

Loosbrew, running the RAM at 133 would be a waste BUT for the fact that when the data hits the Northbridge, its moved to the cpu at 100DDR or 200. If the Northbridge only ran 100 SDR then one hell of a traffic pile up would result.
