I have a first generation KT7-RAID motherbird (bought it in mid-2000) and want to upgrade to a faster AMD CPU. I have a 800 T-bird that only goes to 900 in there now.

I am confused though on what is the fastest CPU I can use on this board. The Abit site says it will not support the new Athlon XP processors, so which one can I use?

Thanks!

I've also got the KT7-RAID. I've got the 1.0 GHz T-Bird in mine. According to the latest itteration of the manual, that's as good as it gets.

That said, I don't see why you couldn't use either the 1.1 GHz or 1.2 GHz chips. Both are based on the 200 MHz FSB. Both came out after the motherboard and manual were released (and prices aren't THAT much more than the 1 GHz chip).

Just out of curiosity, would you be running XP?

1.4 Gig is the limit on the 200 mz bus.
You can oc/higher though if your processor will allow it.
I had my 1 gig oc/1.450 no problem
