ABIT KT7-Raid (HPT370) Linux support?

Anyone know if the new kernel versions allow for raid support in linux? I am getting conflicting results. I saw a few posts on dejanews.com which said that people got it working but on Highpoint's website they said that the highpoint patch does not support raid, but only devices as regular IDE channels. Anyone able to give me a definitive answer? Thanks!
