I'm trying to decide if my ABIT KT&-RAID board is worth the $25 to refurb it through Abit.

I put in a new CPU- an Athlon 1.1Ghz and turn it on- all the fans spin, but no video signal and no Post.

How do I know if the board is dead?

A repeatedly answered question.

Remove the RAM, if it beeps, the mainboard is probably alive. Try a different CPU, try that CPU in another board. It's rare that the CPU itself just died due to overclocking, more likely the power was never very good and finally killed the system.

You can buy new, DDR mainboards for 25 dollars.

Keep in mind that your system won't beep if you don't have a speaker connected to the motherboard.

Yeah the Leaking capacitors did affect this board. Along with the Kt7a like I had. That could be the issue as well.
