Hello.
Just got my Abit kt7-raid. Something is not right :(
The mobo is set to the default voltage 1.75
When i go to the PC HEALTH in the bios - it gives me 1.85

If i set the core volgate down to let say 1.70 - the PC HEALTH gives me 1.8 .. so there is .1 difference. What is the default voltage and do you experience the same thing ?

Should I be worried ?

no thats great, just set it down to 1.65 and you should get enough to run default. if you ever overclock you have much voltage to spare:)

What processor are you using? If my memory serves me correct, if you're using a TBird 1Ghz, there's nothing wrong with the 1.75. Of course, I've been sleep deprived, so don't take this as an absolute....

Ok this is the deal:
this is a Tbird 800mhz. I just actually received 2 birds and 2 mobos (abit kt7 raid). Mine sais: 1.75 default and the pc health shows it as 1.85. Is this too high ?

the other mobo and cpu = core is set again to 1.75 but the pc health shows 1.79

Now, I run mine at 112x8.5 = 952mhz (800 original). no lockups nothing.. i have not touched the core voltage ..

My questions:

1. is 1.85 high
2. my temps are: 33 idle, 47 after quake3 - are the ok

What is the default core voltage for 800 tbird ?

Thanks

Without modification, the core voltage can't be too high. There is a .05 variance in reading on these boards that is common.1.75 to 1.85 is fine, some modify to get 2.00 for overclocking.1.75 will run cooler and should be default. The board showing 1.85 at default is likely a larger variance, but not a problem.Your temps are average.

No, mine does the same thing. I think it's great. Just override the default setting and bump the voltage down and reboot and check until health monitor reads ~1.75v. No problem. This is the voltage your CPU is supposed to run at and it will run at the right temperature this way. 1.85v shouldn't hurt anything as long as it isn't heating up too much, but there's no reason not to run the correct voltage if you're running stock speed.

When you do want to overclock, you'll be able to get about 1.95 volts instead of the usual 1.85v limit. :) :) :)

Not too high, no. If its stable for you, there's no problem! More voltage adds to heat so if there's problems try better cooling. Nice overclock.
