I switched my motherboard (Abit KT7-Raid) over to my new case (Chieftech) last night.
I configured it with 4 hard drives (WD 120 GB) for a Raid 0+1 setup. I flashed
to the latest bios. I went into the highpoint setup for raid and when I tried
to add the drives to create the array, it said I didn't have enough drives.
I was able to setup up 2 of the drives in Raid 0 and the other two in Raid 1
simultaniously. So, obvisously it sees that I have 4 hds. Don't know why it
won't let me set it up for Raid 0+1. One thing I did noticed is that 2 of the
hard drives seemed slightly bigger than the other 2 and by bigger I mean in
kilobytes (120 or so). Two of the hard drives are the WD 8mb cache Special (7200)
the other two have regular 2mb cache (5400). I have the two "specials" set as
the masters, and the two regulars set as slaves. Should I switch the settings
around and have the two specials on one IDE and the regular 2 on the other IDE?
Any ideas or solutions to this problem would be appreciated.
