Abit KT7 -Raid: Basic IDE Question

Please excuse my "dumb" question, but here it goes:

Can I run up to eight (8) IDE devices with the Abit KT7-Raid ?

I do not plan to "mirror" two hard drives- however, I would like to run :

Two Zip Drives
Two CD Rom Drives
One ( maybe two) hard drives

Can I do it with this motherboard?

Thanks - please bear with me on this basic question.

Yes, you can run this configuration. The Zips and CD-Roms will run on the Southbridge Controller and your hard-drives will run on the Highpoint HPT370. I wouldn't try CD-ROMs or Zips on the Highpoint, they don't do well.

i think its best to put the cdroms as masters in the primary and secondery ide channels and the zip as slaves to each cdrom, the harddrives can then go in the highpoint controllers...i tried putting a dvd on the highpoints and got a blue screen...

I have a ASUS 6600 GForce256 on my KT7-RAID and it works fine. You'll have to get some input from those with the GForce2's, for info on the newer cards.
