ABIT KT7-RAID/ATA-100

Is there any way to use the HPT 370 controller on this board to just provide ATA100 suppurt a la its cousin the KA7-100? Is it a requirement to create an array?

Yes, you can use it as a ata100 drive and dont have to create a raid. I believe you have to install the drivers so its active and enabled in your bios. I believe where you set up your boot sequence in your bios, where it is normally floppy,ide-0,cd-rom, you change the ide-0 to ATA/100. This may not be necessary to change, but I did on my kt7a-raid board after I installed my o.s.

SeaHarp,

Silly question (I hope)...

I just switched my drives from the ATA-66 controller on my KT7-RAID to the
HPT370. Now in Windows neither drive shows the checkbox for DMA. Is this
normal? I do have the drivers for the HTP370 already loaded.
