ABIT KT7-Raid and T'bird Potential

Hi, well soon I will buy a KT7-Raid and a T'Bird processor that I would like to try to Over clock. I heard that the T'Bird 700 has the same potential to get up to 1000Mhz as the 800mhz could go up that high. But I'm a bit confused, to get the 800 T'Bird to go up to 1000 possibly, because I have the KT7-Raid MB, do I have to do any physical modification to the T'Bird processor?? Do I have to do any modifications to any part of the top of the processor, or to the bottom; or both sides??

Can you recommend 'the best' Heatsink & Fan combo that I should use to overclock to such high speeds.

Finaly, whih T'Bird would you rather buy a 700Mhz or 800Mhz; to try to Over clock to 1000Mhz

Courtdog,

The only mods that you require are connecting the L1 bridges on the top of the processor. These are 'blown; with a laser by AMD after speed testing. They can be connecte with a soft (B) pencil or with defogger repair fluid. (search the forums for more details).

Doesn't make much difference which speed you buy, its the luck of the draw. You could even buy a 650 Duron that could do 900 plus. They are so cheap that you can have fun without investing much $$$s
