Abit KT7-raid and sound blaster platinum 5.1

I got a Abit KT7-raid and a soundblaster paltinum 5.1 card.
I thought I read back sometime ago about someone having problems with the Abit KT7-raid mb and creative sound blaster platinum 5.1. Does anyone know anything about this or does anyone have this setup and working properly?

It works fine for me. I have a AMD Athlon (T-Bird) 1GHz @ 1.2 GHz the Sound Blaster Platinum 5.1 works great (use CD Drivers). I have the KT7-RAID mobo, the only gripes I have with it is probably the reset.. I'm having too much problems with it.

Yeah there are a couple of problems with it... do a search.

SB16 emulation drivers caused problems, so if you get stuck and can't log into windows after you have installed the drivers, go in via safe mode, so to the device manager and disable (not delete) the SB16 drivers. This should leave you bug free.

There have been reports of problems with PCI slots 3 and 5 with the SB live!, but none personally.

Do you have ACPI enabled? I've tried disabling sb16, but the darn thing keeps loading on boot.

Don't have a 5:1, but I do have an X-Gamer running with my KT7-Raid and a SBLive value running with my KA7-100. No problems at all. Before I put the boxes together, I read that as long as you don't share PCI slot 5 with the ATA100 controller, you're fine. Speaking for myself, I used a different PCI slot from the beginning whether I was using the HP controller or not and have never had a problem. Two rock solid systems.

I have the SB live x-gamer and the abit KT7. I was having a problem but now the card is installed in pci slot #6 and my ethernet card is in slot #3 and the sb16 emulation has been disabled and now no more problems.
