It should, mine isn't here yet:( I belive the clock multiplyers go from 5.5 to 12.5 So it should hit at least 1250Mhz.

Enkrates,

I notice you are using the Soundblaster Live X-gamer, Abit KT7, and a T-bird. Others have posted problems with the Soundblaster not working right with the KT7. Did you have any and how did you solve them?

BTW, how do you like your setup? Thinking of a similar setup now. Any advice?

They sent me a KT7 instead of a KT7 Raid. I had nothing but problems with it. Got my KT7 Raid yesterday, it rocks, stable with no problems yet.

KT7 Raid
Thunderbird 1 gig at 1030
196 meg pc 150
Supermicro 750a w/Antec power supply
Soudblaster Live X Gamer
2 IBM 7200 ata 100s
1 IBM 7200 ata 66
Hercules GF2 32 meg
Hitachi 19" 753 Superscan
US Robotics 56k modem
Teac floppy
Philips 2x4x32 CDRW soon to be Plextor 12/10/32

My modem was conflicting with the soundblaster dos emulation driver, I set it to do print sharing and conflict disappeared. I used the drivers that came with it, I have the 3.0 drivers I bought but they arent the same as the ones that come with it.

Rock Stable and fast, I didn't do raid yet, as I want to try winn 2000 on one of my 30 gig drives to test it out.

I did have all kinds of stability problems and crashes with the KT7 they sent by mistake. Gladd I went the Raid now. Could have received one of their 5-7% return boards.
Stable as a rock.
The KT7 goes to 12.5 multiplyer in bios

Rangersix,

I don't have any compatibility problem with my system setup at all. Soundblaster is fine with my Abit KT7. And everything else seems to work great in happy town :).

Rangersix,

Forgot to answer the last question.

I like my setup very much. I have done alot of research before buying these parts and I am very satisfied with it. I was a little undecided on which CPU speed to get though (900mhz or 1Ghz). But after thinking of it for while, the 900mhz seems like a no-brainer to me, and here why:

Why buy the 900mhz instead of 1Ghz? Well technology is changing so rapidly that it is better to get a cpu that fit your need at the time and not looking for the future. Because if you buy 1gig now, there are already 1.5 gig in the horizon. The point is it's hard being on top of technology in the CPU field. Also the 1gig twice as much as the 900mhz ($250 more to be exact) and I don't think a 1gig can outperform the 900mhz much. And the last reason is that I have heard many people saying that the 900mhz can be easily overclock to 1Ghz and perhaps 1.1Ghz. Not bad at all. :)

Hope that helps. Good luck with your system.
